What did the Democrats attempt to hide from the American People when they Destroyed Hundreds of Videotaped January 6th Depositions?
It is VERY likely the videos still exist. The House of Representatives must act fast to preserve the evidence Democrats attempted to destroy.
Recent revelations that Democrats may have destroyed exculpatory evidence collected by the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack demand a full and thorough investigation. Speaker Mike Johnson needs to empanel a new Select Committee to review the actions of the prior Committee and present ALL of the evidence to the American people—specifically Rep Nancy Pelosi’s role and the involvement of the FBI and DHS on January 6th. While the former chairman of the Committee claims Democrats destroyed much of the video evidence they collected it is very likely much (if not all) of the evidence still exists. To that end Congress needs to send evidence preservation notices to James Goldston and his team.
The United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack conducted one of the most expensive investigations in the history of the House of Representatives. More than 100 staffers, lawyers, contractors, and support personnel worked for more than a year and half conducting more than 1,000 videotaped depositions and interviews, combing through more than 44,000 hours of video footage, and reviewing more than 140,000 documents. The Committee then hired a former Disney executive James Goldston who previously served as president of ABC News to turn their work product into a 20/20-style primetime special for the American public.
James Goldston and his team used the Committee’s work product to produce ten live hearings and two primetime specials. As a reward for his work on the January 6th Committee James Goldston was hired by Blackstone as an executive for Candle Media. Goldston and his team helped shape the narrative and worked to turn selected witnesses like Washington DC Metropolitan Police officer Michael Fanone and White House Aide Cassidy Hutchinson into ‘stars’. There is evidence that Hutchinson’s ‘story’ was significantly altered after the decision was made to turn her into a ‘star witness’. Rep. Barry Loudermilk uncovered evidence that three months after she gave a sworn deposition to the Committee she recanted her testimony by providing a fifteen page document describing ‘errors’ in her testimony AND new information including her story about Trump attacking his Secret Service driver.1 Suddenly her ‘new’ testimony was ready for primetime.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk sent a letter to the former chairman of the January 6th Committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson, and asked him to provide the video of Hutchinson’s original testimony so he could compare it to the version Goldston and his team presented to the American public. Shockingly Thompson admitted that Democrats had destroyed the videos along with hundreds of other videos, photographs, and documents. Thompson claimed that he did not think that the Committee had any obligation to preserve the evidence they collected.
The House of Representative should send every one of the 100+ people (including James Goldston) involved in the Committee an evidence preservation letter and as soon as possible send them subpoenas demanding they turnover ALL communication, documents, and video related to the work of the Committee. Until the American people receive ALL of the evidence and hear the full story of what happened on January 6th we won’t be able to heel as a nation.
